I was in Indy last Friday and made my way over to the restoration shop. What a great place! Inside the shop is Rodger Ward's 66 Lola, Mark Donohue's 70 Penske (covered uo), Foyt's Parnelli, an early 80's Gurney Eagle, and best of all Gordon Johncocks winning 73 Eagle. The story I was told is that Lee Brayton owns the Gordy winner. He bought it in 74, crashed it and then it sat at his place in the back for 20 or more years. This is the real deal in the pictures below and is getting restored. Last time I was at the Wally Parks Museum in Pomona, California, ('bout a year ago); there was a Foyt Parnelli on display. Don't know if it's still there......

I went with Bill Jorgensen and John Edwards. These guys have been going there for years. The old guys that work there are fairly grumpy but they are familar with Bill & John. I am not sure thay would take to well to strangers. The shop is the old Parnelli Jones Race garage. Below is a picture of PJ & Mario in a Motorhome Ad in the back of the building. Next picture is me standing in the same spot.
