Early days in this project! 3 sets of Cady decals, one large lump of resin, I think it's Bill J.'s, not sure as it came from e-Bay, SE Finecast wire wheels, reference pics from Russ (oldcalhoun) and Mark (Indydog), thanks guys! Hope to get 'er done by the March deadline for the museum display. Going to be lots of scratchbuilding, oh boy! WIP pics will come slowly at first as there is a lot of prep work and fitting to be done, so please be patient! Brian

Good Luck, Brian! Looking forward to the pictures of the build. I believe I also have that kit (will have to check! LOL!!) BTW: Where do you get the Finecast wheels? I have been looking for a source...... I believe Russ mentioned using the trailing arms from the Monogram double kit with the #56 Supermod and Kurtis. Lots of spare parts to use in that kit. Thanks! Hi Bill - I got mine directly from SE Finecast. Here's their website: www.sefinecast.co.uk/Just e-mail to the attention of Dave Ellis and he'll help you out. You want the K-3 MG set (has 5 wheels & tires so if you buy 4 packages you get 5 sets). They are a bit fiddly to assemble but it CAN be done. Brian

Brian Hi Brian, I have one set that came in a Jorgensen Miller. Not too difficult to make up, just tedious! ;D I want to use them on the '49 Winner Blue Crown that is headed to the Museum. Thanks for the link. Bill <><

Here's a few pics of my progress (SLOW) on this baby: Right side with modified Watson kit exhaust manifold and two of the SE Finecast wire wheels, done with fishing line rather that the kinky wire they provided, body lines re-scribed, were very shallow and wavy. Left side with air filters from some kit, can't remember which, modified steering wheel from Watson kit, filed finger grips on back, made the center pad look like leather. Also brake drums and backing plates, not exact matches but pretty close. Dashboard started with first turned and P/E bezel in place. Made a ledge around bottom hole to hold styrene floor, carved leather pads in side of cockpit, pic of grille that's the next scratchbuilt project, going to be fun! I've also started the windshield frame, only about 1/2" wide but it's going to consist of 8 pieces, counting the "glass". Waiting on my order from R&M Co. of MD for some small bits to finalize my suspension, come on Norm, hurry up - LOL! Thanks for looking! Brian

Looking very nice.
And that's a great tip to use fishing line on those wire wheels. I tried doing one once with that wire and just couldn't get it to look right. I imagine fishing line is easier to keep straight. Definitely going to try that one.
