I wasn't sure if I should put this in the WIP section or the diecast section. I figure it's ok here since it is a WIP. I am taking a Carousel 1 Kurtis Kraft and converting it into Jimmy Bryan's 1955 Kuzma. Lots of body mods to do especially from the cockpit to the back. I plan on sectioning the tail and adding the gas tank. Might as well since that area has to be modified so heavily anyway. Great looking start!
Are you going to modify the sides to the more oval shaoe of the Kuzma?
Keep it up! Mongo

So the exhaust opening has to get filled and then you have to make exhaust that comes out of the holes you put in the hood, right?
These things sure do look pretty in clean metal!

Jordan - I think you meant to say intake. The holes in the Kurtis Kraft for the "intakes" were originally below the holes I drilled in the hood and yes, I had to fill those in. I have to figure out a way to be able to remove the hood so the engine can be viewed since the hood wasn't hinged on that side. Mongo - It would be nice to shape the sides more rounded but I have to forgo that. Shaping the sides means I have to shape the hoods to and it's just not possible. I wish but i have to make due with the donor I have and make it as close as I can without doing that part. Stu

HI Stu, I *could* be wrong, but I think there is a possibility that the Bryan Kuzma is the same car A.J. drove his Rookie year of '58. ( ) That is a car I am going to have to get done before too long. I plan on modifying the Monogram Kurtis kit using Bob Clidinst's drawings. (that's reall why I wanted to see how you were going to *fatten it up*! LOL!! Mongo

Mongo - I have been re-thinking the cigar shape issue and really hate that I said "can't do it" because I hate the word can't. I am sure it could be done using body filler and a lot of work. The issue really is that not only the body is rounded but so is everything else! LOL The hardest part I imagine would be the hood area and getting it to conform with the rounded body. Should be a lot easier to do in plastic. Good luck!
I am finishing up the rear cover and found that I need to make the holes in my hood just a bit bigger. It's my plan not to hinge the hood but be able to lift them off to see the engine. Been busy as of late but hope to get more done this weekend.
