Lots of talk on the site about the Lotus 49. This is a built version of the Union(Heller) 1/24th kit... I've owed these photos to Michael @ Indycals for years. He made the decals as a special project for me... Last Grand Prix win for a "privateer"... The driver is the Monogram 1/24th Indy with Lance's 50's head and helmet...

Wow, another tough kit I've never seen built. I recently bought one of those from Jordan (Indy). I built several Tamiya 1/12 kits as a teenager, have to use one of those as a guide to detail the Heller/Union! Very nice work!

I don't like the tires by Heller. They're too big for the years. The best period tires are MFH tires(from Strada Sports, part MFHP906 for 70's prototypes)...tread is excellent, too!
You did a great job on the nose to backdate it. Walker also ran the car as in the kit later in the year (it might be a new car as I think I read that this chassis was wrecked). I'd like to backdate mine, too as Jim Clark's car.
