OK: technically this is not a 50's G P car but it did run against the all conquering Alfa's in 50-51... This is not the Merit kit, this is by Heller. It has,IMHO, the best plastic wire wheels ever and period correct tires... Hey Russ, If the engine's not up front, it can't be a Grand Prix car!

Very nice! It's a Heller kit, correct? I've got to get one someday. I've herd them race in the Historic races. Loud and basso! Imagine a grid with 4 of these and the refined Alfa super-charger sounds!

Tim,
All I can say is WOW!!!! Nice job on the beast! I didn't know Heller made such a kit and I sold one of the old Merit Talbot Lago Kits months ago. I still have a couple of old Merit Vanwalls and I restored one glue-bomb I won off of Ebay. I don't care what anyone says, race cars, real race cars had the engines in front of the driver!
Best to you and again, awesome build!

Awesome build, Tim! I have that kit and have never seen one built before. Now that I have, I think I'll dig itout again and maybe have a go at it. You're right about those wheels & tires, they just look "right".
