This is my version of the 1927 Pete DePaolo '500' entry. He qualified 2nd, but dropped out after 31 laps and finished 26th. This the Southeast Finecast kit with several extras added from Chris Etzel's rear drive Miller. Paint is Tamiya camel yellow, and the decals are from Etzel's Kuzma and Miller 91 rear drive. Thanks for looking.

Thanks for the complements guys!
You can order this kit from SE Finecast right now. It is listed on their website in the Autokits section as the 1928 Miller 91, #A019. It's 50 pounds with 3 pounds S & H. That's about $100.00 depending on the exchange rate right now.
It looks a little rough when you open the box, but it goes together pretty well. I also enjoyed working with an all metal kit for a change.

Very impressive. Southeast Finecast build ups are indeed rare. I bought one of their 1965 Lotus kits and hope I can do it justice like this build!

Jordan,
Do yourself a favor and you'll be glad you did. Take the Southeast Finecast Lotus 38 65 Indianapolis 500 Winner, and sell it!!! I did that to mine after I saw Lance Sellers version of that car. Far superior models and much, much, MUCH easier to deal with. Better detail as well. I took the Southeast Finecast about 20 times to always put ti back, and hen sold it at a kit convention. You'll be glad you did.
Best to you!
Russ

Tom: This is one of the best I've ever seen! I've stared at this beast on Lance's website and marvelled at the details. An OUTSTANDING job! Seems like ya'll like stories, so here's one I discovered. If you go to www.conceptcarz.com/view/photo/232573,14497/1927-Miller-Indy-Racer_Photo.aspx you'll see this beast in all it's glory. However, the notes say it won the 1930 Indy 500 (the Billy Arnold car I'm working on for the IMS museum)? I realized that the front wheel drive is identical but couldn't understand the rest of the story.Check this out... What these guys did was widen the chassis, put on a bigger radiator, and add a seat. Most of the "junk formula" cars that raced at Indy from '30-37, were the racers of the late 20's with these modifications. I guess this proves "necessity is the mother of invention." Perhaps we need a new "junk formula" at Indy. A broad set of rules with favoritism going to "stock based" motors and "home made/hand made" chassis. What do you think? Tim

Duane, I used the radiator, magneto, engine and supercharger. I made resin copies of these so as not to actually rob parts from an Etzel kit!
