The bombs keep coming... Trying to recreate a famous picture...  The "bricks" are a sheet of Evergreen to be used building 1/24 th houses...  A great story behind this one..."Slow Down"from Lou Moore...Holland did, and Rose didn't...Holland waved as he went by, thinking Rose was a lap down...imagine his surprise in Victory Lane!  |

Holland was pissed!!! After the race Lou Moore and Mauri Rose almost got into a fist fight! Moore told Rose that he, Lou Moore was the boss of the Blue Crown Team and Rose said, "Not out on the track you're not. I'm the boss of the car!"
I was difficult to fire the driver who had just won the Indy 500 for you....so when Rose won the race the next year as well...Lou Moore was behind the eight ball, so to speak. The following year, when Moore gave Rose the EZ sign when he was behind Holland, and didn't causing his car to quit with a bad magnito....Moore finally fired Rose.
Tom Carnegie once stated, "Everyone thinks Foyt is a difficult interview. I have had no personal problems with A.J....Now; Mauri Rose on the other hand...."

That's a beauty. I really like the paint job on that one.
And that's a cool idea on the bricks! I may just have to try that.

Super build! And a great story! The sad thing is 20-30 years from now, people will STILL be telling those old stories from the early days as the Indy of today (& the foreseeable future) certainly isn't generating any stories like that.
