One more new guy

Hello everyone,

Just found this site! GREAT!!

I've been a open wheel modeler for about 10 years. Not much to show for it yet. Lots of half finished kits.

I grew up in SE Wisconsin. About the midpoint between the Milwaukee Mile and Road America. Lots of summers watching Mears, Foyt, Andrettis and Unsers.

Currently, working on a conversion of an AMT 1:25 Penske PC-17 into a Sullivans 1989 Miller PC-18. Also have a start on a 1:25 85 Ferrari Indy test car.

You got to like another guy named Russ. This is a great site and I only hope it inspires you to build like it has me; again. There are some really good modelers here and some great guys! If you have a question, fire away! It'll get answered in time. Back to building!

Tell me more about your 85 Test car. I'm an old Ferraristi and wanted to gather enough info to do this car.

First of all I got the year wrong. It was 1987, intsead of 85.

For a car that never turned a wheel in competition there seem to be quite a few pictures. Here is one of many.

There are some who think that the car was never intended to race, but actually was used to pressure the FIA over rule changes. At any rate, its a Ferrari, and best of all its a Indy Ferrari.

I have a 1:43 scale version of the car that I'm using to get the dimesions and body shape from. I will include a picture of what I have so far in a later post.
