I'm still learning the types of cars out there. I'm trying to figure out what kind of chassis that Foyt used at Indy from 58 to 60. Also, I have Bill Clidinst list so if there is a drawing of a similar car, I want to get it. Nic

Maybe I can help...in 1958 Foyt drove a Kuzma that Clint Brawner re-modified. In 1959 Foyt drove a Kuzma laydown which he said handled....."like a bucket of crap!" Foyt changed teams in 1960 nd drove a Kurtis that was George Bignotti's handful. If I know Bob as well as I do, I know he has drawings of Foyt's first ride at Indy.
Best to you!

Russ Hi Sheriff Bart, After getting the Hungness 1977 Year Book at your suggestion, the '59 car looks like the Epperly Lay Down slightly modified. (we discussed this on the phone this week ;D ) I still need to contact Bob about the '58 Kuzma drawings! Mongo

Foyt's 60 car was a Kurtis 500J driven by Jud Larson rebuilt by Quinn Epperly in 1960 to match the other team car driven by Johnny Boyd #8 , Gary Doucette of Front Engine Motors made a kit of the Hoover Motor Express / Bryant Heating that could be used to build this car. It needs some work but it makes a nice model. If you look on Lance Sellers website you can see a couple of the Bryant and Hoover cars that Fred Lombardo and I have built. Good Luck in finding one but somebody might have one. I haven't heard from Gary in years. Bob Clidinst does a drawing of this car in the 1960 configuration. Hope this helps and Good Luck. Gary has dropped off the planet for many of us that were friendly with him...just like someone else we all know. Best to you! Russ
