Never used it How do you use it properly? What is the best brand to use and if matters especially with Tamiya paints?

Microscale and solvaset seem to be the most popular I prefer solvaset as it seems to be stronger. If you ever use it on F1 Specialties Carbon fiber, make sure you put it under the decal only, if you put it on the top it will stain or destroy the CF pattern. Otherwise, you can apply it on anyside of the decals. I only use it on very complex shapes, particular if it involves my decals which go over simple complex shapes just fine without setting solution. BTW, my decals seem less affected by it than other decals. When you do use it, you will see your decals wrinkle up - DON'T PANIC - just put it aside and forget about it - overnight is good. Next morning everything should be nice and smooth.

Mostly I want to use it on CF. but I have it figured out when it comes to your decals (indycals) when I clear coat my bodies. My decal job on my 1996 Bryant Reynard was perfect Michael! I cant even tell were I cut out the decals or even see the clear part of the decals. The tamiya clear if done right, really...as like to say "melts the decals on" and looks great super great!
thanks

I agree with Michael 100%. Solvaset is what I have used since the early '60s. I also have some Mr. Mark Softner from Gunze which seems to work real good, but much harder to find and not quite as strong as Solvaset.
(speaking of Michael's decals, I haven't really found a need to ever use a decal solvent on them ;D )
