It has been emphatically denied. Mary has been adamant that the Speedway is for her grandchildren. IMO, that's too bad - family businesses tend to deteriorate with generations as more family members want to pull things in their own direction. The Speedway could really use a new Tony Hulman right about now.

I agree with Michael - if the kids don't mess it up then it is usually the grandkids!! I'd love to be the next Tony Hulman. It would be cool to pull the strings at Indy - I know just what my first project would be.... and as race fans, you'd all love it! And yes, I'd have a long-term 1/25 plastic model strategy, too. Fresh out of college, I applied to the Speedway for posted jobs several times and never got any kind of communication from them. Guess they don't want to talk to some guy from Texas..!?!? So, I never got my "foot in the door" at IMS like I had hoped. Oh BTW, if could swing the IMS CEO position.... I'll buy plenty of display cases for my office so you guys can send me Indy models Jordan

They should sell it. The only one who cared about the speedway was forced out. The rest or the family seem to be interested only in what they can drain out of it. If you want a real soap opera, do some research on the Hulman-George family.

Well....
I do agree the Holman-George Family is a group of wackadoodles 1st class! I supported Tony George in his quest to run the IRL and to turn a dollar at the Speedway, but he has gone WAY to far with it. Oh well, so much for good intentions I'm afraid.
Someone here said it best...Tony had ideas and spent some money and his sisters decided that they couldn't afford the 5 million gone from their 5 billion dollar heritance...so out with Tony.
Best to you
Russ

Likely buyers, France family or Eccelstone. Also rumor is that Ganassi will buy the IRL
