WTH is Button thinking? He must know he will never get a fair shake with McLaren, they will always back Hamilton first. His father will make sure of that! I can't believe that Brawn/Mercedes would not cough up an additional 3mil to keep the #1.

Martin Whitmarsh said, “I want to make clear that Jenson’s decision to join us was in no way motivated by money”

I think it is probably a better move for Jensen as McLaren probably has a leg up on developing their 2010 car over Merc/Brawn. What I can't understand is McLaren picking Jensen over Kimi. I mean Kimi has issues but IMHO he's a much better driver than JB.

(He'll get 10mil from Ferrari if he sits out 2010) Button - 6mil? No brainer for McLaren. Besides, I don't think Hamilton wants someone who could possibly outperform him.

Let's see. A world champion leaving to become the #2 driver on another team. His teamate leaving to be an also ran at Williams. Mercedes looking to have 2 German drivers on their F1 team. Is it starting to make sense now? Both Button and Rubens had no chance of staying, they took the best offer they could get. Remember that motor racing is the only sport where talent gets you nothing, it is all about money.
