Considering the kit was announced back in November it's more like 'what's been taking them so long?' Right now I'm sure they're feeling the pressure from Tamiya, and right now it appears they will both be out at the same time.

Are those Tamiya decals yellow? Say it ain't so... I think it's just bad white balance on the photos throwing it off. That said, the Tamiya kit doesn't come with tire manufacturer decals, so even if one doesn't want to do a tobacco version, a set of aftermarket decals is still needed on the Tamiya kit ;-)

Well, you have to have the JPS decals. The JPS scheme is iconic among F1 cars, I wouldn't build it any other way.

Looks like the Tamy is on the way too - probably have them both about the same time.

Got the Hasegawa! NICE! The initial run comes with a bonus sprue that includes helmet and hose fittings. There is also a full color, high quality page of detail reference photos. Lots of nice rivet detail. Hopefully I'll have the Tamy in a day or two to compare them.

I think this kit may have the nicest 1970s F1 tires of any kit to date.

Once they hit the stores here, I'll get one or two?
I might do a Hase and a tamiya at the same time?
I think I'll do Ronnie Peterson's car with the Hasegawa for the Austrian gp winner.
and do Mario's car with the Tamiya as the French gp?
Originally I was going to do the first raced 79 for the Belgium gp but later noticed it has JPS on the side pods. (which I dont care for that layout as much as the other layouts to follow)

Yes, I started building it, but I've been way too busy to do a WIP.

Off topic......... How about a review on the Ferrari 512S? Is it actually a repop of the Heller/Union kit? Thanks! Mongo After looking at all three kits, they are the same. Exceptions are the color of plastic they are molded in. Also, the new Fujimi kit comes with two piece tires
