I have just talked to Bill. With some personal problems and the death of his mother, he knows he is behind on orders of kits and parts. He has asked me to post his email so you can contact him and let him know what he owes you. Don't contact me about what he owes you or anybody else. Let's keep it civil and give Bill a chance to make good on what he owes you. Thank You Walt

Hey Walt,
Thanks for the up date on Bill. I've been trying to reach him just to see how he was doing over the past few weeks. I do know that this has not been an easy time for him. Thanks again for the update.
Best to you
Russ

Walt and Russ I'm going to be unpopular here. I feel for Bill J, I lost my mother this year, so I know how much it hurts. That is not the point. Bill is on Ebay almost every week selling kits. I have bought kits from both bill and Lance that are sitting on the shelf, so time is not the issue. When you take someones money and then don't deliver, and worst of all don't communicate, that is bad business at best, and fraud at worst. If you don't have it, don't sell it. Maybe Bill should just do the masters and let someone else handle production and sales, I don't know, but the way it is going is not good. My $.02 Craig

That is my point, I met Bill at the Indy show and he is a good guy,but that is not the way do do business. I quit modeling several years ago because of people taking my money and dropping out of sight. There was a great racing model magazine that I found in a hobby shop. I sent money for a subscription and never got a thing, out of business. It was not a lot of money, but that's not the point. 60 to 90 dollars for a kit is, to me, a lot of money. If you can't ship the kit, at least tell me when you can ship it. Then follow up.

First of all, I think it needs to be said that this is a very positive step made by Bill.
I lost my mother on July 1st and I understand that pain - almost four months later and not a day goes by that I don't think about Momma and miss her.
I understand the frustration posted here already, too. I've been in the same boat for longer than most everyone else that's waiting, too. It's not a huge deal but you dang sure right that I want what I have paid for already.
I'm leaving this thread open but any admin here will lock this thread if the bad posts keep snowballing. The original post was supposed to let everyone know what to do to get your stuff, let's contact Bill and try to work it out. Like I said previously, I see this as a positive that Bill wants to make it all right - there are other vendors in our hobby who just fold up the shop so we should be appreciative that he's working to fix the situation he's in currently.
If I may be so bold, let's try to be as affirming in our contact with Bill as possible. We certainly want to take care of our IndyCar hobby vendors so that they want to keep serving us for years to come.

Walt,
Thanks for the update on Bill, I just sent him a e-mail to tell him thanks for all of the great cars I have recieved from him over the years. It doesn't seem like it but I met Bill almost 13 years ago and he has been a real insperation to me as well as many others in the hobby. I just wanted him to know how much he means to the hobby.

Alright everyone, let all of our better nature and cooler heads prevail...
I too have been burnt badly by cottage industry guys that never came through. I was burnt by Ken Glenn and Rick Sanders both...Rick Sanders of Garage 97 fame. Glenn still owes me one of his lousy 77 Foyt/Coyote's and Rick Sanders owes me a 1964 Ferguson Novi kits. Both of which I will never see. You know with Bill, he's slow, but he will not defraud anyone. Through Walt, he has asked for more time is all. Just e-mail him and be patient.
Now allow me to get onto my Soap Box for a moment....
Being a good friend of Chris Etzel's I went through his last days as a cottage industry kit producer. Also, I have known Bill Jorgensen for well over 18 years and Lance Sellers through Bill, for almost 15 years. Both are honest and good guys and would never consider cheating anyone out of their money for the purpose of taking their money and delivering nothing. But starting this kind of talk about them will speed up their demise sooner than later. All I ask of everyone, is to please give Bill sometime to get his barrings and get everything off of his plate that is there; that's all.
I know that the hobby is important to all of us, but family first, then the hobby. Let us keep this situation in it's proper perspective, Okay everyone. In the immortal words of criminal and LAPD Pinata Rodney King, "Can't we all just get along?" Bill and I spent one night, cussing and discussing the merits of one Ken Glenn, who was indicted for mail fraud for taking money and not delivering anything! Bill spoke to me how that pissed him off to hear I got screwed by Glenn! One reason Bill came out with his 77 Winning Coyote, I have always felt. We all have other things to build currently. I, for one, have to find the correct color of paint for the 1921 Winner. Check your kits and look at what you have, and built or start that. Just e-mail Bill with what he owes you and I'm sure he'll get to you!
I, for one, would hate to lose Bill's talents over a misundersatnding...like we did Chris Etzel.
My best to everyone!
Russ

Russ I'm not mad at Bill. As I said I think he is a good guy. I have bought from him and will continue to buy from him. All I said is that if he is having problems, back off and get caught up. Bill has several kits on Ebay right now, and continuing to sell when he can't deliver will come back to haunt him. These things tend to snowball and at some point will get him in trouble. Craig

Craig,
I knew you weren't angry at Bill at all, but we must keep cooler heads these days. First thing you know, someone a wee bit insensitive, usually myself, says something and we have a HUGE explosion. What I do know is.....I think about replying, get up and go top my kitchen for a drink of water, come back and sit down in front of the keyboard.......then write what I do. It seems to work better for me that way.
Best to you
Russ

I have been in contact with Bill a few times lately. Yes, he owes me stuff from quite a while back, but I also know that he has lost a dear family member. He has always come through, in the end, so i believe he will again. I just think he is way behind right now and needs to catch up. I would hate to lose him from our hobby. Taking a break form ebay sales might be a good thing for a while so that he can get caught up.
Knowing that all the resin casters that I have ever dealt with have a *day job* makes it all the harder to turn things out *quickly*. A nature of the beast, but I, for one, am glad they do produce kits that we would otherwise have a really tough time building.
Thanks for the heads up, Walt.

First off let me say that I have never personally met Bill, but I understand what he is going through, having lost my father recently. That said, I have been dealing with Bill since we started the HoF build and only just got the new tub he promised me over a month ago. The new cowl and windshield were not in the box, but Bill contacted me about those and said he would drop them off. That was LAST Wednesday and I replied the same day... I have not heard from Bill since. I love Bills models and I'm willing to wait for Bill to do his thing. I understand the situation, but he could be better at answering an e-mail. Other then that, I have no problems with Bill and thank my lucky stars that he makes the kits he does. Ok, maybe better instructions.

Does anyone have a parts list for the 73 STP Savage/Johncock & 77 Coyote cars? I've asked BJ for a list but its been a while. I know I'm missing the rear wing and decals on the 73 car. I just want to make sure I'm not missing anything else.

You have to get the decals from Fred Cady or the kit and the rear wing from the kit.
Bill still owes me two things, but I can easily wait. I ordered something back in early October and he delievered in about four weeks. It'll probably be four months or so before I even start building it, so waiting isn't an issue. As long as I get it, I'm a happy man. I haven't gotten a 77 Coyote from him yet, but that is one I would definitely wait for too. Nic
