I have seen the list from the Chicago Hobby Show and it has the old Monogram Kurtis Kraft Roadster as an SSP which I think is a limited production series of kits. It looks to be the Hoover #19. I hope some one will do some more decals for this now that its out

That is great news for us and not so much for the Ebay sellers trying to get big bucks for the kits.

That is great news for us and not so much for the Ebay sellers trying to get big bucks for the kits. It kills me to see those "Model Hoarder's get hugedollars for those older kits......To quote myself to one guy at a Buena Park Kit Collector's Show some time back....."$75.00 for a Monogram Kurtis Roadster kit?!?!? How is it without the blow job?" Best to you Russ

There is a guy on Ebay still trying to get $75 for them. How do you get an internet BJ Russ?

It would be nice to see someone do a resin panel for the right side of body around the cockpit since most of the cars had a high body line there, and a photo-etch grille to duplicate the "standard" Kurtis grille would be really nice also.

Hey Eagle 36.... Just check out the 1941-62 section on this forum and look for Hinkle Special WIP. It's a model I recently did from the good old Monogram Kurtis kit. If you have sheet plastic and a set of wheels from DrDave in resin, you can built any 1950's kurtis your heart desires. I mean hey, if I can do it anyone can. I hope the re-release of this kit isn't just a rumor. Best to you Russ

Russ,
I built two cars with after market resin wheels and tires. I'll take a picture or two of my #99 Belanger with the high cockpit panel that I from a hood from a glue bomb Kurtis I got on e-bay and a panel that I've made for the next projects, the Filter Queen and the Bardahl Ferarri Kurtis.

I would love to see your Belanger. That is one of the projects I have started. Right now I'm trying to work out the grille.

Hi Professor, were you able to get any more details on this reissue? It's shown on several reports from the hobby show, but no info on what markings it will come with or a release date. Thanks, Sandy

Thanks hemiman, I didn't think it would show up on their website so quickly. OK, same markings as before so there's a big opportunity for some after market decals... hint, hint, hint to second or third an earlier post! Sandy

We really do need a source for the correct wheels. Both regular and *reversed*. The kit wheels leave a lot to be desired, and a real good set of wheels and tires would make a great starting point for the whole kit.

Hey Mongo!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There is a source, DrDave. I did the patterns off of Etzel's work and he does proper wheels and tires for the mid 1960's Indy Cars, both front side and reversed. Give him a yell!
Best to you!
Russ

Sandy I know that Dave is busier than a one armed paper hanger, so I would like a *window of availability*. ;D Not busting your chops, DAve, I've been where you are now, and there ain't enough hours in the day to even think about what you're thinking about! ;D Mongo
