I thought I would show what I have been doing over the weekend. Feel free to ask questions....Im basically building it the same way as Michael did on his front row cars......why not? I'd be dumb not to copy ;D It is well worth cutting the suspension off and drill hole. Then use small wire and "stupid glue it" ;D into the holes of the suspension. Its also a great idea to do up (finish it) the cockpit and get it over with. Then later just mask it off real good. The one thing to watch out for is to, take the extra step in making sure you don't have any dents an scratches before paint!!!!Especially Gold. Gold is weird, you don't spray it on, you dust it on. I noticed if I spayed it on normally it did some strange stuff? So dusting it on worked for me its wastefully but it got the job done. Also I would recommend Clear coating it a few hrs. later, because Gold scratchs....soooo ...easily The only thing that I'm not liking...still as Ive been "WIP-ing" is the more that paint drys the more I see the scratches, dents and excess glue that is showing, the reason why is I fiddled and faddled around with getting this engine cover to fit so much that it just happens....mistakes happen The other thing that I just kick myself for....and I know better Is not to eye ball the masking lines. but I think I will be ok when I put the green decal over the (wet sanded smooth) masking line I should of took the time and measure it out like a good little boy. ;D But nope I had to go like hell and rush.

Looks good and remember that the fuel goes on the left side of the body at ovals like Indy. Nice job on the holes for the suspension - that's going to help the finished product a whole lot!

It is alive!! Nice job! As Jordan said, it really comes to (High) Life with those decals. I can't wait to see the finished product.

The way I did the "heat shields" over the exhaust like on my Amway car was that I used a regular white shirt, super glued some of it to the ones that came with the kit, trimmed it along the edge of the plastic. I then just spray painted them gold & glued them in place when I was ready. It's so simple but I think totally gives you the effect.

That turned out very nice. We definitely are our own worst critics.

Man, that turned out nice. Another AMT kit I constantly debate building but can't work up the nerve to break the shrinkwrap! Sweet job, man.
