Since I am ready to get back into doing some builds (golf season is almost over), I need some suggestions and photos of the following cars:
1988 Granatelli STP #2: (Was out too soon to get good screen caps)
Best Paint color
Photos for decal placement
1989 Pizza Hut #91
Same yellow as Pennzoil?
Kraco and Domino's cars:
Domino's uses a lighter blue than Kraco?
Keep in mind that I have a bit of color blindness when it comes to shades, so paint numbers might be the best way to inform me.

I know Domino's blue is Tamiya TS-44 and the red for it is TS-8, they look correct to me.

Yes. I'm with Calvin - TS44 on the Domino's car. On the Kraco, I'm personally torn between TS44 and TS15. In reality TS 44 is probably a hair dark for dominos and an hair light for Kraco, but close enough to each to work. I'd go with TS8 or Tamiya Chrome Yellow for the Kraco car (not sure of the TS number)

Gregg must have ESP. The Krako and STP cars are on my list once I get this 1/32 Super Sabre off the bench.
MCW has Domino's red and blue and STP neon red for airbrushing. I don't know if those would work for Indy cars. Their Castrol colors were an excellent match for the Revell Reynard kit decals.

Actually my next two builds will be the STP and the Pizza Hut Lolas. I am ordering the Kracos (all 3) and the Domino's decals from Michael when he gets back from vacation. FWIW, I am using the Monogram STP kit for the STP (even my feeble mind could get that right), and the Mac Tools Lola for the Pizza Hut car. After doing all of my recent builds with the AMT kits, I figured a different kit would really catch my attention, and it has. The thought of doing a different car has me excited about building these again. And of course the Indycals will be better than the factory set. |
