Back in 2010, I signed up and introduced myself thus:
"Hi all,
I've just signed up after seeing the fantastic rebuild of a Tamiya James Hunt M23 over on F1M.
I've been modelling since I was a lad, and have been a follower of F1 since 1979, I had built up quite a quite a diverse stash of models, however following a break up in my previous relationship I had a bit of a break from modelling, and started to dispose of my stash, mainly because I didn't have enough room to keep it all (and to liquidate some cash )
However I just couldn't bear to part with my Tamiya 1/20 F1 cars, I have got virtually every Tamiya release up until the Williams FW-24 and now that I've settled down, got married and have a baby on the way, hope to be able to crack on with getting the collection built.
I know I won't have much time when the baby arrives in August, but my new wife Gill is very supportive of my hobby (even if she doesn't understand it )
I'm hoping to convert my existing or build a new shed as a workshop space.
It's great to see the other Japanese manufacturers picking up on the 1/20 F1 scene, I've recently picked up a Hasegawa Ferrari 312T2 and I'm really looking forward to getting the Fujimi Williams Fw-16 and FW-14B at some point.
Hope to follow some of the excellent builds I've seen here and will try to contribute some myself.
Happy modelling

Well, the baby duly arrived (unbelievably my daughter is now 14), unfortunately I did succumb and sold a fair few of the F1 kits including the Hasegawa Ferrari 312T2, just keeping a select few that were either already started or held a sentimental spot within me.
I did get a new shed, but it never became the modellers haven I wanted it to be, its just full of home & garden stuff.
In the intervening years I've never really stopped modelling, but have very little to show for it in the way of completed projects, mainly just boxes of part completed kits, I love building, absolutely hate painting and live for decalling its the bit that makes the kit come alive.
However over the last few weeks I've dug out some of the kits from the stash and have made a start on a couple of Tamiya 1/20 Tyrrells (P34 1977 & 020), progress has been good with lots of sub assemblies ready for painting but typically the great British weather has stepped in and I've been unable to spray as I have to do this outdoors.
I've also invested in a few new kits, but I cannot believe the prices these kits now sell at, I certainly wasn't getting £50-£70 for the kits that I sold
Thats the reintro done I promise it won't be 14 years before the next post.
Happy modelling
