Please keep Board member Duane “racerbrown” Brown and his wife in our thoughts and prayers as he’s directly in the crosshairs of this monster hurricane as he lives in Tampa.

Thanks for the kind words, Sandy. May those of us in Florida facing the storm be safe. May the rest of us say a prayer for them. Jim

Thanks Sandy for the prayer to us in Florida. Duane and family stay safe. Jim and family to you as well. I am in St Petersburg close to the coast but boarded up and waiting. All my resin builds are out of the Florida Room and in the house hopefully safe. My son and his family were flooded out of there home by Helene and lost almost everything. He tried to stay by himself but lost the battle around midnight. Had to wade thru waist deep water to unlock a kayak threw the cat in a backpack and paddle 3/4 of a mile to be picked up. His whole neighborhood has furniture and construction debris on the front lawns waiting for this flood which may double the last. I am in one of the highest points in St Pete so hoping for the best. Prayers to all and hope your safe.

I talked with Duane last night. He says they are all ready for it. I’ve got another very old friend who lives east of Fort Meyers. Looks like the storm will be going directly between them. Brave people, these Floridians.

pntm- I didn’t know you were in that area as well. Please stay safe. I’m so sorry your son lost so much. And the piles of debris is just another thing adding to an awful storm. Thoughts and prayers for all you folks there.

Hoping to see everyone checking in soon. I was in Clearwater last week and it was very sad.
I am supposed to be flying into Orlando tomorrow, my nieces there are okay just no power.

Ok here as well. Still with out power. Neighbors oak trees are down on our power line but the city has power outages everywhere. Traffic lights are out everywhere as well which has caused cahos. Finally got ice today at Walmart for free as well and a food truck was handing out free barbecue. Been taking cold showers and cooking food on the grill. Trees are down everywhere literally broken off at the base. Some entire root balls up. Never endured winds over 100 miles an hour it was intense. Gas lines at the stations that do have power are over a half mile or more long. Other than that we’re doing ok. Finally got out and stopped by my daughter’s place to charge batteries for cell, flashlight, chainsaws and used her internet to post this. Dummie me can’t remember my password to post from my phone lol.

Well we're doing fine here now. As described by others here it's been really chaotic. I've lived in Florida all my life and don't remember dealing with two hurricanes in a row. Some people here got it worse from Helene that they did from Milton. A few miles one way or another at landfall of a hurricane can make such a huge difference in damage. We got our power back today in both our house and my shop. I hate to think of how difficult it would be if our feels like temperature that we had in August or September of 110 degrees were happening these past few days. All in all I'm just thankful that we did as well as we did and that we'll get back to our usual routine fairly soon. A big thanks to all for the kind wishes and prayers. Hopefully our open wheel storm survivors can get together in the near future.
Duane
