With Shapeways gone, it might be time for an SLA 3d printer. I know that Jaunjo uses a Creality. I hear that Elegoo and Anycubic make nice printers. I'm leaning towards a Anycubic Photon Mono 2. I read that it's a nice beginner printer. It has a print volumn of 165×143x89mm (6.5x5.6x3.5). I can get one with a wash station and 2kg of resin from Anycubic for under $300. store.anycubic.com/products/photon-mono-2-3d-printer?variant=43244290244770I would like the opinion of you guys that may have used 3d printers. Is there anywhere that compares printers and has reviews? Any opinions on 3d programs?

When I started printing, I tried most of them and settled on a Longer 4k. It's easy to use and great quality. Good luck

Mark, before consideration of a 3D printer, first it is helpful to understand how you plan to use it. What do you plan on printing? Car bodies, parts? What scale? Do you plan on developing your own files for printing or downloading the files from somewhere like CG Trader or Cults 3D? And remember to anticipate what you might want to do in the future. If you only ever to plan to print small parts or body panels, your choices are vast. If you plan on printing whole 1/24-25 car bodies, you will want to look at printers using a larger build plate. As far as technology, most advantages of the most modern printers beyond 8k capability come down to features that make it a more pleasant experience for the user. Things like wifi capability, auto-refill of resin, vat heaters, etc. My initial suggestion is not to buy based on the best deal available but what delivers the best capability and then purchase that unit at the best price available. I have owned an Anycubic 4k (small build plate), an Elegoo Saturn 2 (larger build plate), and my current one is a Phrozen Mighty 8k (same basic size as the Elegoo, but better ergonomics for me). Just my 2 cents.

Woody, I'm looking to make small parts and perhaps a conversion or two (like the 72 Mosley Eagle). I'm not getting onto the parts or models biz! I'm looking for a decent build size, resolution and print speed. I also have a budget I plan on sticking to.
Thanks for the input guys.
