I have a new found respect for the guys on here that design and cast resin kits. I have been trying to cast a few, simple parts for my 72 Mosley Eagle build, and it is beating me up!
I don't see how Lance, Kevin and Calvin do this all the time. It WAY harder then I thought it was going to be. If I can get 1 out of 5 pours to yield a usable part, I consider that a success!
Now I realize there are tools that may make it easier like vacuum pots and such, but gentlemen... you have my respect and admiration.

Part of making a mold that takes experience is learning fluid dynamics. Understanding how the resin is going to flow through the mold. I use the reverse of vacuum, pressure. In both making the mold from silicone and the resin. 40 lbs psi in a paint sprayer pot is enough to "crush" the tiny bubbles.

This is my latest casting. Kurtis 500 sports car. This represents 2 molds, the body and teh chassis plate with the front fenders. Before pouring a length of brass tube is inserted in the mold for the front axle to be inserted through. The brass is molded right into the body. Its done so the other suspension components will not sag over time.
