Lest you think I’m focusing too much on non-wheeled machinery, I present the following. No WIP, this has been on the back shelf, hauled out looked at put back, etc for literally years, finally finished. I’ve always liked the GP cars from this year; Lola, Porsche, Cooper, Ferrari, BRM and of course Lotus, both the 24 and the 25. No wings, plain unadorned color schemes, all enveloping bodywork, skinny tires and cool drivers. Probably my preference stems from my becoming aware of this form of racing at this time. Thank you Henry R. Manney! This Lotus is appealing to me due to its very tight body work around the engine and transaxle, the more traditional full windscreen and the very pure color layout, BRG with black numbers on white circles. I’ve always felt the later yellow stripe was overdoing a good basic design. The Tamiya kit body was flattened in front of the steering wheel, the engine cover sectioned narrower, a tail cone from an IMC Indy lotus kit fattened and shaped and a windscreen cut from clear plastic. I use material from covers of cheap notebooks as being flexible. This was pinned onto the body using drilled holes. I extended and reshaped the nose slightly.

Love the scratch building. The finished model looks stock, so your blending of stock and scratch is impressive.
I love the BRG Lotus racers from the 60s!

WoW! I dont know how I missed this earlier, this Lotus is Awesome, the Body modifications really made it look more like a correct version from those years, the plain BRG without the Yellow stripe is Genius! It adds so much. When you really look at the body the changes come to you and although easily missed they make the model. Thanks for sharing this gorgeous model... Chris
