I admire Mr. Penske for his passion to own Indy and the series, but after seeing the success of IMSA's hybrid prototypes, would the series be better off if purchased by NASCAR, or IMSA who are owned by NASCAR? Not they've shown an interest, just a hypothetical.

Hell No!!!! Cant imagine, running races in segments, Cookie Cutter Cars (worse than now) Staged Finishes, More Wrecks and Yellow flags than racing. What's with those Green, White, Checker Race extensions? I guess most races are pre-determined? Just not a NASCAR Guy I think!! Go back to Run What You Brung! Race to achieve a Winner Indy Car Racing!! Chris

The ending of last year's 500 was as close to NASCAR as you can get. I'm with Chris, if you like manipulation and orchestrated results that's what you'd get if NASCAR took over. That's a hard hell no for me too.

I'm not worried about Nascar buying Indycar, I'm worried about Liberty Media buying it. 😶🫣

That's a hard hell no for me too. I'm sorry, but last year's Indy finish looked pretty NASCAR-ish to me. They should have thrown that red flag one or two laps earlier. But I think as far as promotion and getting more manufacturers involved on the engine front, NASCAR would have the edge. And if you watched an IMSA race, their racing rules are very sensible and nothing like what goes on in Cup Racing. Indycar racing controlled by NASCAR doesn't have to mimic what you see in Cup Racing.

They should have thrown that red flag one or two laps earlier. It should not have been thrown at all. There was no safety reason for it - that should be the only reason for a red flag.

I never liked the manipulations (see Chris's response) that NASCAR has been doing. Playoffs are okay for ice hockey and other sports, but not, in my opinion, in auto racing.

Rules can always be changed. However, I didn't say that I thought any rule changes would be done if ownership changed. I was just opining on the way NASCAR rules are today.

Rules can always be changed. True, and sometimes they can even be changed for the better.
