Hi everybody, I've been watching the Chili Bowl and I've noticed several of the cars are running a panel of some sort across the back of the roll cage just behind the driver. It looks to be on all of the Keith Kunz cars. Does anyone know what this might be and what it might be for?
Thanks, Gary

Hey Gary, To me it's like some sort of hidden spoiler. It's angled so I think it's an aero thing to help through the turns. Just my guess. Stu

I agree with Stu. It’s some feeble attempt at an aero advantage. I hate it… lol I want to see the drivers!

100% it’s aero. We have one for our pavement sprint car which we actually can’t use anymore because they banned them. lol. How much does it help on a tiny track like that? Who knows

Who knows Aerodynamically, it probably adds nothing on that tiny track, but you know that these psychological advantages really do help the driver.

And not only that it’s something that draws the eye of the competitors as well while adding nothing. It’s certainly not the reason the Keith Kunz team is so strong. No doubt they’ll be the ones to beat again tonight.

Thanks, guys. I suspected as much. Somebody once said if Karl Kinser showed up with a bowling trophy welded to the hood of his sprint car everybody would have one within a week. Guess it's the same with Keith Kunz midgets. Thanks again!

Also another place to add sponsors. Ha. You got that right. We sold the space on ours for a set of tires. We put the guy on the nose too but you are 100% right.
