Hello everyone,
Sad news. Rick Ferkel, one of the original sprint car outlaws has died at the age of 84. Nice guy and great driver.

RIP to the Ohio Traveler. His 0 car was an icon of the sport. And he stayed active in the sport even after he quit driving.

Definitely on of my early heroes. My dad reminded me that he was the one that introduced the drag slick“humper” to Ascot that became a staple for a while. RIP Rick Ferkel.

It was always a thrill to see Ferkel show up at our local track in the 70's.
