Nicely done, looks very "period"! I've found that many of those old kits we used to dismiss as "crude" turn out quite nice with modern methods and paints. Plus they build up easily and stress free!

Atlantis has purchased a ton of ancient and tired molds that they’re repopping and I was happy to see this along with the Mack AC truck, which is a wonderful kit. This one was a lot of fun too. |

What scale Offy did you use? I see the 1/18 and 1/24, but no 1/20. I may have to build one of these!

Charles will print any scale you want. I ordered a 1/20th Ford SOHC from him, just pay for a 1/18th and tell him you need a 1/20th.
He makes a very nice Offy, see my 1/12th McLaren Indycar build.

What scale Offy did you use? I see the 1/18 and 1/24, but no 1/20. I may have to build one of these! So...I messaged him to see about dimensions and compared them to the kit engine. Which is mostly just the sides of the block, a couple air cleaners and an exhaust pipe. I actually went with the 1/24 scale one. It was basically identical in size (length and width) to the Monogram block once you put it together. My other thought on this is that his engine is surely a 270 Offy, so a 270 in a smaller scale turns into a 110 for a midget. I think if I wanted to duplicate a big car using this kit then I would pay Charles to upscale his offy. But the smaller scale worked in the midget. |
