What's the deal with the white Lotus Turbine in the AMT reissue kits?
I'm only aware of 4 of them and the pics I've seen of 3 of them are all red. The only car I haven't seen is the one driven by Mike Spence which unfortunately the car where he met his end. Was this one white?

Licensing issues most likely, or they just wanted to save money on licensing costs. There never was a white lotus turbine. Spence drove a dayglo red #30.

It's the same kit as the red issue. I do believe it a licencing issue.
Think of it like the old Monogram Roadster, a what-if kit of a fake car that can be had cheap and made into a real car.

The tires are wrong on that kit too. I guess it makes no difference what color the plastic is since it gets painted.

I'm going to pick-up a couple sets of resin replacement tires which are in scale.

IIRC Lance Sellers had some in his conversion kit or Replicas & Miniatures of Maryland (is that right?) offers tires that I think should work on this car

The Turbine tires offered by Norm Vebber are very accurate and molded in black resin, so painting is optional. They are very nice. He has tires for the old Olsonite Eagle too....and they are not expensive.
Best to you
