What the hell does "permanent disqualification" mean? I know what it sounds like, but does that mean Renauilt is out of F1 after 2011? It's probation. If they don't screw the pooch again during the next two years the disqualification will be lifted.

FWIW, I know a lot of people feel that Piquet does not deserve another chance, and that his ratting out Flavio was just retaliation, and that no team would ever hire him after doing such a thing. It's very easy to condemn him for deliberately crashing, but he was not the first and likely won't be the last driver to deliberately crash. Guys like Senna, Schumacher and Earnhardt made careers out of it. Only difference is, they weren't in the damned-if-you-do, damned-if-you-don't scenario that Nelshino was unfairly put in. Had he not ratted out Flavio his career was likely over anyway, but now that the truth has emerged, I hope some team will give him a chance to redeem himself.

Team orders in F1 have been around in one form or another forever. At least Renault can stay in the game for the time being which to me is the important thing. As for Flav, Pat, and Piquet Jr, I couldn't really care less. If Piquet gets another ride somewhere, fine. If not, I won't lose any sleep over it. Let's get on with the rest of the championship.

Anyone who dumps Heidi Klum is a little suspect in my book ;D
I read a BBC blog today on it and most get away with a light slap on the wrist. Pat Simmons got it bad supposedly - maybe Chip or Roger is calling him now.... of course ex-F1 in NASCAR is all the rage these days with that McLaren guy going to Michael Waltrip Racing. I thought Flav was interesting but I've never watched a race because of him or skipped a race because of him - he's not that key to F1's success.
Piquet should go racing in LeMans cars and hope that someone down the road will give him a chance. All Nelson really needs is a sponsor - sadly, anyone with a sponsor has a good chance at an F1 ride.

I kinda liked Flavio just because he spoke his mind and wasn't afraid to stir the pot. I remember back in the 90s he use to wear his hat backwards for no other reason than he knew it drove Ron Dennis nuts.
That said, given the serious nature of what he ordered Piquet to do, I have no problem with a lifetime ban.
