1/18th 1980 Johnny Rutherford Tim Richmond Ride Along

After Johnny Rutherford won the 1980 Indy 500, he stopped on his cool down lap in turn 4 and picked up a stranded Tim Richmond. Richmond hopped on the side pod of JR's car and hitched a ride back to the pits! Ron Burton captured the moment in one of his paintings so this is what I wanted to recreate.

I took several resin drivers and cut them up in order to get the Richmond figure as close as I could to the real thing. I added a seated JR driver figure as well. Painted and made my own decals.

Excellent job on this one too. I have that Miller advertisement with the painting hanging up. Always thought this was such a cool moment.
