1954 Tony Bettenhausen Mel Wiggers Special Conversion

I took a Carousel 1 Kurtis Kraft and converted it into Tony Bettenhausen's 1954 Indy ride. All the decals on this one are mine except contingency decals are from Indycals.

I could not print gold so I made a number 10 stencil template and spray painted gold paint onto clear decal paper. After placing the number on the car I used another red outlined #10 decal to overlay on top of it.

Clever way to solve the number decal problem. Still at the beginning of an era with the KK roadsters. Back in the day when one person could sponsor a car and put their name on it. Thanks for sharing this piece of Tony Bettenhausen history. Jim
