I bought one of the "new" Wasp kits from Michael at the memorabilia show, and have finally started. Just the engine done as I wait on paint to fix my screw up with the body.

Let's see the body screw up? I always like to see the Pro Golfers hit bad shots. They always recover a lot better than I do. It is always nice to see imperfections. The motor looks great, so far off to a nice build.

I have repainted the body. I don't have any pics of the first paint job, but it was sorta an oatmeal color. It looks MUCH better now with the yellow over white.

More progress. Chassis coming along nicely. However, I am gonna have to order new decals from Michael, cause I screwed that up big time. Those pinstripes are TINY!

Chassis is looking awesome Mark! That pinstriping looks like it would be tough! Iâll probably be screwing that part up as well. Lol

First round of decals. I suggest anyone that orders this kit, buy an extra decal sheet. I messed up the decal around the cockpit on the other side and had to order one. The decals are REALLY fine and it's hard to trim the film close. I've got a couple bugs to work out and may end up stripping the hood again. Nothing I can't handle though.

Looking very nice Mark. When I got mine and saw those decal's I ordered a set on my next order out. I thought they were going to be a challenge. Itâs looking great.

Looking really sharp there Mark. I will get another set of decals next time I get an order in based off of your recommendation. Lord knows I can screw up a decal or six.

I have encountered another problem with my Wasp kit. It appears that the frame in my kit is warped. It has a slight upwards bend just forward of the body. As a result, there is a gap at the bottom of the cowl that I can't close. It is also throwing off the fitting of the radiator. I believe that this is self induced as a result of having to dip the part and strip the first coat of paint. I have already started to strip the chassis and I am going to try and straighten the frame. FYI, Michael has offered his help if I need it. Another example of his excellent customer service and work ethic.

Well, if itâs any consolation it all looks great up to this point. I know youâll get that hammered out too and will have a fantastic result.

Good paint and decal job! Warping in the resin can be fixed by heating with a hair dryer, bringing it to the shape you want, and holding until it cools.

I have finally finished my build of the Wasp. It was my first time building a fully 3D printed kit and, through no fault of Michaels, I did not care for it. I found the resin brittle and hard to work with. I broke several of the parts and had to order new ones from Michael. He does include several extra parts and that's a nice touch. Not all the decals in my kit fit properly and I screwed them up so much, I ended up leaving one off. That being said, the end result is STUNNING! I am so freaking happy to have the Wasp in my display case and I will buy any other kits Indycals makes in the future.

Looks great, decals can be so rewardng and so frustrating at the same time. They seem to move when you do not want them to and they don't move when you want them to. They do bring the model to life though. That is a nice looking build.
