One year since our friend of the forums and help moderator here, Craig Miller, has passed. Here is a thread to post any rememberances to the man and maybe tribute him if you have a build of something Craig influenced (Jimmy Bryan, Gurney, AAR Eagles, etc).

Of course, my favorite memory was when I surprised him with a car he saw at Indy that his hero drove. He was talking about this car for many years and I decided to replicate it as a surprise to him! Jimmy Bryan is one of the all time great drivers, and a hero of mine when I was just a kid. The first time I saw the Speedway was in 1960 during practice. There was a very small, yellow car running, that I had never seen before. The driver was a good sized man, who filled the cockpit completely. I said to one of the yellow shirts, "that's a really neat, little car, who is the driver". He said "Jimmy Bryan". Since that day, that has been one of my favorite cars. It was one of the first cars I ever saw run, it was the last car "The Cowboy" ever drove at Indy, and it was probally the smallest roadster ever built. I had mentioned to Calvin that I would love to build that car someday. Yesterday in the mail, I got a box from Calvin, Guess what. The Lotus is going back into the box, I have to build this car. If you are a Jimmy Bryan fan, a roadster fan. or just a fan of different cars, this is a "must have". Mine is going into "the purple pond" right away. Take Care Craig

...and of course HE LOVED to tease poor little Calvin as I was always doing wild things So far, So good. Hope it's not another Lotus 34. Lol.😂 Yes you do! Everyone needs another kit! Especially resin kits, which are proven, time and time again, to have a huge return on investment. Better than gold! Really? I guess I will call my broker, and rethink any stocks, Resin is better than Amazon I guess. Who knew. You just may need a better exhaust fan, Calvin. I'm a stud - I don't have to worry about my size barbies! 8 ft 2x4? It was a log time ago, Craig! Someday I'll tell my grandkids about them times. I'll even tell them the story of the legendary Mr. Miller and how he helped me get through the struggles of the resin business when I was a young lad and how he helped me make lots of money! I worry about you, Calvin. In some kind of order, 20 years is NOT a long time. Usually, to have grandkids, first you must have kids. Usually, to have kids, you must have a wife. Usually, to have a wife, you must have a girlfriend. Usually, to have a girlfriend, you have to talk to a girl. It will take a power much, much greater than mine for you, or anyone else to make lots of money in the resin casting business. You, I'm sure, are the only person who considers me legendary. ps, got the parts, today, thanks. Craig That's impressive, Sandy. That just might cause an underwear emergency for Calvin. He will, no doubt, need at least a dozen of those. This is the best paint scheme EVER! The only reason I wanted to build this car was just for the paint job! LOL! This paint job will take a long time to complete. This is one of the craziest ones yet I have done. I needed to get my Tamiya paint used up and this is the perfect car to do it with! While I apply color after color to this body I will continue to work on my other projects.Sit back relax and enjoy the color show. Let your eyes be mesmerized by the all the color!
All my post will be in color on this thread! It's the rule! So don't ask too many questions because it takes too long to type these color comments out! LOL This might be a "new track record", we can have a debate about 4 colors on the same car. I believe satin lagoon is the color of the Rustoleum paint. Pretty sure I got mine at Home Depot Both Calvin, who sometimes knows what he is talking about, and Tom Faletti, who always knows what he is talking about, say the Satin Lagoon is the best match for the Cheever car. And he had his share of great builds Modified Kuzma from Gary Kuzma Champ car, set up for Indy, Etzel kit Gary did not like rear engine cars, but when I bought 40 kits he learned to live with them Etzel kit via ARM

I miss the heck out of Craig. Ornery, cantankerous and definitely no filter on his mouth. And those were his good points! Seriously though I miss the phone calls, the good advice and sharing our stories on just about everything. Duane
