While most credit goes to Ray Harroun for driving the Marmon Wasp to victory in the 1911 Indy 500, a lesser known fact is that for at least 30 laps, Ray Harroun had a relief driver named Cyrus Patschke. While he had the luxury of driving the Marmon Wasp for a time in the inaugural race, he didn't get as much credit for his contributions. Nevertheless, Ray did say that victory would probably not be possible without Cyrus' help. So I decided to pay tribute by visiting his gravesite which is fortunately not too too far from where I reside. I hope you like this tribute. If anyone has a problem with it, please let me know and I apologize in advance. ENJOY and let's remember Cyrus Patschke!

One lesser known fact is that Cyrus returned the Wasp to Harroun, having taken the lead. With this is mind, it is a grave disservice not to recognize him as a co-winner.THANKS for that tribute. WELL DONE sir!!
