With construction at the Milwaukee Mile in preparation for the return of nascar, the Harry Miller club chose IRP as the replacement venue. I, for one, am very grateful for this as I’ve long considered going up to milwaukee for the annual meet up there. Moving it to IRP this year meant just a day off from work and a short 50 minute trip up the road. It was totally overwhelming and I have no idea the total number of photos and videos I took. An amazing event with accessibility to the cars that is second to none. The vehicles spanned from Barney Oldfields 1904 Peerless Green Dragon, through the Millers and the junk formula at the speedway, up into the Kurtis era and ended with the Watson era. No rear engine cars allowed although pre WW2 Grand Prix cars were allowed so there was a smattering of those. Plus a few Miller sprint cars. I spent yesterday evening and this morning culling out any obvious mess ups, from too blurry, to random shots of the ground or my finger there was a lot of junk mixed in. So here’s a link to my album with some 500 plus photos and short videos of some the cars running. I apologize they are in no particular order. I didn’t feel like taking the time to organize 500 photos just now. Later I’ll go back through and separate them into folders by car/era. Hope some of you will enjoy! Hey Kyle...that link to AMAZON. Gary I’m not sure why it’s doing that. It wasn’t earlier. I checked the link and it worked when I posted it and obviously was able to be seen earlier. The link is still good too because I opened it in a new tab and it pulled the album right up.

Sorry. I think amazons redirection system is not the best. Because, I just clicked on it again and it directly took me to my album. I use Amazon because it’s included in my wife’s Prime membership and it’s unlimited photo storage. Figure they’ve already got the rest of my info they can have my photos too. update: I've tried it on my PC now and find that it is hit or miss. So, if for some reason it brings you to the Amazon homepage please try to right click and open it in a new tab manually or maybe copy and paste the link into a new window. I apologize but, as I said it's easiest for me to use Amazon photos and it backs everything up on my phone immediately. Hopefully the link will work more often than not.

I had trouble with the link, too. Try right-clicking on it and open in new window.
Kyle, some amazing pics and videos there. I went to the Watkins Glen vintage weekend many years ago, it's always an awe-inspiring day of sights & sounds.

But yes these vintage events are wonderful for all the senses. So glad I was able to go!

But I was busy watching in person and didn’t want to spend the whole time looking through my phone! 😂

Great photos! They were at IRP and I somehow MISSED it!!?? WTF? Yeah. They didn’t advertise much. One of the guys I know goes every time to help maintain a couple of the cars and keep them running. He told me the organizers don’t care if anyone comes or not so they don’t advertise it much. They do it so people have a place to run their cars.

I saw it on Fakebook. I follow a page called Indianapolis 500 Past Present and Future and they post some great photos and info. It was advertised on that.

Weird. Link takes me to Amazon. Paul Erlendson Try it again Paul! Or copy and paste the link into a new tab. Or right click and open it. I don’t understand it but the link has been doing that off and on. No rhyme or reason. But the photos are there. The weird thing is I’ve texted it to a few people as well and it opens fine for them. I don’t understand the difference.

Sounds like a good group to be a part of! The Harry Miller Club does have a bookface page as well and did some light advertising leading up to it.

Attended this event in 2009. I had the pleasure of meeting and talking to A.J Watson. Got his autograph too. So neat to be so up and close to everything instead watching everything from a distance. Duane

Duane Duane, I don’t think I’ve ever been to a cooler event. And I’m not much of an autograph seeker but I for sure would’ve loved to have gotten one from AJ Watson. That’s too cool. There’s so much awesome and historical stuff to see and listen to that it’s a bit overwhelming!!! I loved it and hope to go again some day.
