Guys: Am I the only one who thinks Palou is a generational talent? After all the off season McLaren issues, I thought he would just be going through the motions. Then at the 500, he fought back when a lot of guys would have called it a day after the pit road unearned mess. I mean this guy is beating Dixon consistently, and seems to have it all:super pace, superb qualifying, excellent race craft, the total package…Geez, I think he could beat Verstappen or Hamilton with equal equipment…Am I crazy? What do you think? Tim

I'm not sure I'd go so far as to label him a generational talent. I wil preface this with the fact that I loathe the Chipster and root against all his drivers on principle. I think a big part of what happens to Alex depends on what happens to Ericsson, since his Huski money is taking a dip. Running back up trough the field at Indy was impressive, since so few seem able to make anything but minor, incremental gains. I just hate the current IMS package and layout (bring back the apron).
His likely departure is funny to me on many levels and IMO will likely bite him in the backside if/when it happens. That said He is on a hot streak, no doubt about it and has an enourmous lead in the points, likely on his way to a title. Prior to this year, though, I've just not seen it. Yes, he was the champ in 2021, when no one seemed to want to win the title. As far as beating Hamilton or Verstappen, it's possible, but he would never get equal equipment. Red Bull especially, as they have made another Vettel-esque monster in Max.

Not a fan after the bs he pulled last year and the fact that he clearly does not want to be in Indy car despite the success he is having. And now he might want to stay with Chip another year? The sooner he's gone the better IMO. Let him thrash around mid-pack in F1.
On another note, at the victory banquet this year he was thanking everyone and thanked his wife and said "She is my everything... at the moment." 🤣
He's good, but talent is incredibly deep in all of motorsports.
