I bought these two on eBay from the Quinn Family and do not know anything about there origin. Very nice builds but don’t have a clue and thought someone might recognize them or know who built them. The Duesenberg is obviously an Chris Etzel kit but the Bettenhausen puzzles me a little. It is different than the 56-57 Novi I have from Lance.

The Novi has that vac-u-form body look to it. Is that the case, or is it solid resin?

You might be right, Michael. The louvers look a little "soft". Union-Vac, maybe? I'll have to dig out my old catalog, see if he did a Novi. Of course, it might just be thick enamel paint!

I spun the Novi on the board to get a look and it solid resin with a bottom very similar to Lance’s casting. The nose scoop is unlike the one I have. The placement of the louvers and the smaller scoops as well. The seat has vertical pleating also. Cockpit is also more narrow. It has no small leather pocket inside either. The wheels look like some you would see on a Berlanger or a Troy Ruttman. It even seems to be a little longer.

I've personally never seen these builds before. But I won't be surprised if someone figures it out.

I would guess that the Novi came from Bill Jorgensen. The body is similar to the one he did for the 1956 version and he might have changed the grill and hood louvers. The wheels are like the ones for his Troy Ruttman 1952 winner. Just my two cents. This is almost as much fun as a color discussion. Jim
