In response to the Historical Racing community’s push for greater safety during its events, several technical innovations have been announced by the organizers. Our modeling community has responded to the challenge by developing products that will allow the hobbyist to replicate these new creations.
Lance Sellers will offer full-framed roll cages to retrofit any of his Indianapolis kits. These will include extensive cross bracing so you will no longer have to super detail your interiors.
Silver City is starting production of a series of Aero screens that can be added to any of his Eagle kits. Please specify the tint shade you prefer. The ‘67 Spa winner looks particularly purposeful and sleek.
Classic Racing Resins is planning a line of extended front and rear bumper assemblies to supplement his sports car transkits. Please specify Chromed or rubber-faced. These will meet or exceed crash test standards when your nieces and nephews play with your “toy” cars.
Indycals has outlined plans to allow you to repurpose your Humvee, AMT Daisy’s Jeep, Lindbergh Grand Cherokee, Revell Wrangler Rubicon or MPC Commando “Mountain Goat” models by adding sponsor markings and number panels. A variety of scales will be offered. From SVRA brochure: “It doesn’t get any safer than a bunch of old military vehicles lumbering around the track.” “If it looks slow, it is slow.”
An as yet unnamed 3D print manufacturer is rendering designs for a series of scale speed governors that can be added to any race car model that has full engine detailing.
