I've been watching old CART seasons on youtube to pass the time and just finished 1985. AJ ran a Lola T900 at Sanair that year, but it was painted in his 85 scheme, which was still just solid poppy red. That car appears to be more like the 86 livery with the addition of the black. Maybe someone else knows more.

Looking at the grandstands, I would guess Michigan Interntional Speedway. My two cents. Good luck. Jim

I am pretty sure this was from a vintage meet.

I would assume the Lola was repainted in 1986 to look like the March 86C of that season and then used for promotional purposes. Whoever owns it now probably bought it looking like that. I am still looking for pictures of the car as it ran in its only race at Sanair in 1985, but so far all I have been able to find is the YouTube footage which is grainy to say the least.

More than half the time vintage indycar replicas are wrong in some respect. 😝
9 times out of 10, I refuse to look at any replica for reference.

I am pretty sure this was from a vintage meet. Yeah, looks like there's SAFER barrier there.

More than half the time vintage indycar replicas are wrong in some respect. 😝 Quite so, the most glaring example that comes to my mind is the Break Free March 85C which is currently raced in vintage events. The car was a metallic blueish petroleum colour originally, but for some unfathomable reason it has been restored in black. You would think that if you spend a decent amount of money on buying, restoring, and running a vintage racing car you would at least go to some effort to get the colour right ...

My cringe car is a Mario Andretti 1981 Wildcat. The car was deep blue metallic and dayglo red. This car is a non metallic blue close to TS15 (much too light) and regular red. Absolutely sickens me to see it.
