Got both doners stripped and etched. Ready to make new endplates and prime. What material do you guys recommend for endplates? Styrene? Gauge? And do you just use CA glue to install them? Thanks Joe

I use styrene not sure what gauge I usually buy several different thicknesses and cut out endplates and test to see what looks the best. I use CA glue but use it very sparingly. These look really good so far. What donors did you use?

Nothing worse than slipping and smearing super glue on your new paint.

Joe, 0.011111” is about the correct scale thickness in 1/18 for end plates. I believe 0.010” is available.
Sorry, it took so long to find it. Really loving your conversions.

Finally got around to making the new endplates. Glued them up and primed them white.

Did I mention how much of a pain it is to paint these stripes?? These were extra tricky with the side fins. I’ve got a few spots I need to clean up some bleeding on my lines but I think it will look ok after that.

Looking at this post, I kind of wish I would’ve taken more pictures throughout the process.

Looking at this post, I kind of wish I would’ve taken more pictures throughout the process. Ha! A problem I often have as well. I am terrible with keeping photographic track of what I’m doing.

Looks absolutely awesome! Can I ask how you removed all the individual pieces? Like the endplates on the wings or the triangular aero extensions on the sides. Helio's 2001 car is what I'm gonna try to attempt to make for my first conversion. My plan right now is the use the main chassis from a 2001 Sarah Fisher car, with parts and wheels from a 2001 Tony Stewart.
