1/18 Action Montoya 2000 Indy 500 Winner Conversion

Well I finally got my 2000 Indy winner to add to the collection. Sorry but I took the easy way out on this conversion and just bought the Tony Stewart model and removed all the decals thanks to Stu’s trick using Goof Off….works like a charm. The yellow paint on Stewart’s engine cowl and nose came right off with the Goof Off. The only part I had to paint red was the air box opening. I used Tamiya TS-8 Italian red which wasn’t a dead match, but it was pretty close. Decals are from Michael at Indycals. I need to get my cockpit skills on and craft some seatbelts.

Great job! Its hard to argue against that approach to converting this car. I've done probably 5 of them this way through the years.

Nice job on this one. JPM was a heck of a talent. I remember Paul Page gushing over Juan in 1999 as a CART rookie when the car was sliding on an oval, he kept the power down to drive out of the slide when all else might back off to gather it up.
