Hey guys looking to chrome the suspension and wheels on these 2001-03 Penske winners. Is Molotow chrome my best option. Dumb question but will It tarnish and does it need a clear coat? Thanks Joe

I did think about just using the Hornish or Unser Action diecast that already have the chrome suspension and wheels for doners but those seem to fetch a way higher price than the ones with black suspension and wheels. And I’m pretty sure Greenlight didn’t do a G Force version with chrome suspension.

I've had good luck with the finish of the Molotow, especially the 2mm tip. But you need to move quickly with it to avoid smudging when you inevitably go back over a given section to hit any missed spots. Let dry for a few days.

Also need to shake it A LOT prior to application. Otherwise it can look like silver paint. Test it on some scrap to make sure it's laying down nice.

I usually get the larger refill size and spray it. I've had good results. No clearcoat. I did a Miller front drive about 5 years ago and it hasn't tarnished yet. The radiator shell at the front is all chrome plated.

I was using the Alclad Chrome over their black base, but I've been getting mixed results with it lately.

Molotow is the best. Alclad is good but not for true, mirror like chrome.
