Hi my name is Joe and I’ve been on this forum plenty of times but after all these years I figured I should finally sign up. I’ve been collecting 1/18 IndyCars for many years now. A few years ago I had to make the decision to downsize so basically now I only collect Indianapolis 500 winning cars. Of course I did keep a few favorites that weren’t winners but hey you can’t win them all. Anyway I’ve decided I want to do some conversions. So I plan on doing Montoya(2000) Helio(2001,2002) and Gil(2003) to fill a gap. I’ve done conversions in the past like adding the stripes and proper decals to the Penske cars but I’d like to get into more detailed builds. Anyway here I am. Thanks for having me ….Joe

Hey Joe..(hmmmm..I think that could be song..LOL) Welcome to the forum. I also have been collecting 1/18 scale Indycar winners. I really like the early cars over the latest ones. Greenlight is ok...but not like Carousel 1 or GMP from back in the day.
Looking forward to seeing your conversions.

Man Joe...GREAT collection! I counted 90 cars? That beats my 62 by a ways...LOL Great display too! I have a few of the same cases. I like the ones that open from L-R or r-l. Of course, once a person puts them in the case...you shouldn't have to move them...Right..LOL

Yea, Mine are from carney also...at least 2-3 of them are. Thay open from the top. But...I've got probably 4 that open L-R and I don't remember where I bought them...It's been too long ago. But..... It does make moving the cars around to add another car a lot easier. I found that I need my wife to help with the bottom to top door. Of course...a person can hang the cases with the hinge on the bottom and just let the door hang down. |
