Fast forward as I forgot to take pics for a bit. Rear suspension pretty much complete. Just scratch built whatever to make it work:
(adopting Brian's philosophy - it's not that accurate out of the box anyway)
Prepped and painted the sidepods, they fit quite well with some persuasion:

The exhausts are a @&%*## joke, but they're done (give me Tamiya anytime.......pleeese!)
And this is what I've got, as of now:
Also have the cowling stripped and primed, sort of.

Wow, that looks amazingly good! Considering the kit origin and the condition you started with, it's more like stupendous!

I have a 312T parts kit (actually it's a complete old dismantled kit). The T2 was just a rebodied T, I considered refinishing the T body and call it a 312T. I have the rear wing bits.
Wheels and nose permanently installed, upper body test fit just for fun:

No, no, no, Paul, 312T's are too common.

No, no, no, Paul, 312T's are too common. I have 2 complete kits of them. One is still in it's original shrink wrap.
The T2 shall prevail, one way or another!

Painted and Indycals decals applied:
As I had 2 sets of decals I figured double up the offending part:
It'll have to do.

Always feels good to finish one, even if it's not perfect (altho that looks pretty close to perfect)! Great job on a daunting project (see pics 1,2,&3).

I am impressed with anyone who can finish this kit, I had one once, I did not finish it.

I am impressed with anyone who can finish this kit, I had one once, I did not finish it. High praise from the master himself! Thank you Lance.
And to the others who tagged along.
The bad news is, I have a similar T3 to do. Later. Much later!
