Guys,
I'm about to start building a Tamiya 1/20 Liger JS11 and I'm looking to replace the kit supplied Funnel Mesh parts (solid plastic) with something more realistic (wire mesh). In my on-line search I found an after market set made by Model Factory Hiro . Before I purchase this item I was wondering if anyone in the OWRM forum has an alternative method of creating these pieces. I have a lot of 1/12, 1/20 and 1/24 kits. I have to believe that their a few of you that have experience hand making these parts. Any advise would be welcome.

I may have a simple, cheap, and effective solution for you. I punch holes from a mesh coffee filter, use the plastic funnel mesh as a buck to shape the coffee filter mesh, trim any excess, and then glue on the injectors. It’s that simple! I hope this helps!

Brass mesh, if you can find it. Since I can't I purchased a splatter screen (the kind that sits on top of a frying pan), cost $10.00 and yields hundreds of mesh parts. Use redlegs method or any other correctly shaped object.
