My all time favorite build was a Jorgensen body of the 50 winner that I added scratch built suspension etc. Thanks to Walt, it was displayed in the IMS Museum. Then the Speedway canceled the exhibit and Walt returned it to me only to be lost š in the Great Flood of ā17ā¦ The pictures are not there, but the thread has all the info about this carā¦ mb2501.proboards.com/thread/4330/50-parsons-winnerSo I saw Garyās kit on EBay and decided to try againā¦several problems appearedā¦the tires were all the same size(?) and several parts were poorly formedā¦I have done several of Garyās kits and never had that problemā¦Iām guessing that the molds had gotten old and were cast after his passingā¦so back to some scratch buildingā¦Jerry helped with info about his build of this kitā¦the wire wheels were incorrect(all flat bottom pieces), but Dan(the Man!) came through with the correct bendable spokes and some extra resin pieces! Basically, he saved this build, so Thanks Again Dan! So here are pics of where I standā¦ Instrument panelā¦ Left side with hand brake and oil pumpā¦ Questions, comments welcome! Thanks for lookingā¦ Tim

Great job, especially taking into consideration the rudimentary detail on Gary's kits. Can't wait to see it with the numbers and windscreen!

Gentlemen: Crud! Bummer! Dang! I do research on my models and try to find as much info as possible. I continue to be amazed how many new āoldā pictures show up on the internet. When I built this 10 years ago, I didnāt see many pictures, except for the car in the IMS Museum. Now most of us know that the cars, as displayed , are incorrect in certain areas. This car,is no exception. Note: race day car had windscreen, not small rectangle. Radiator cap, missing on museum car, was there on race dayā¦ But the biggest problem is this: A totally different set up. Larger script for Wynnās Friction Proofing; silver with black outline, and āSpecialāis Larger in the same silver/ black. Also, the small arrows are probably redā¦Also note sponsor decals; hidden by exhaust, are also on the left side. Anybody guess what they are besides Champion? Last but not least, can anybody make these decals with silver underlay? A one time, one shot deal. Iāll gladly payā¦ Thanks in advance! Tim PS: I have several old sponsors sheets, so if we can identify them, I can probably come up with the correct onesā¦tj

Look at the bright side- You do have the rad cap on the car, and you didn't put any decals on it yet. It would have been worse if you had it finished and needed to go back and take the decals and wrong windscreen off.

Great work Tim. Regarding sponsors, the big one near Champion logo on both sides looks like Perfect Circle And the fourth on the left side looks like Wynn's friction proof oil just like the one on the hood, but without the wings.

Guys: Gary @ gwsdecals comes through again! Hood decals on the way soon! In the meantimeā¦ I used ignition wire looms for the windscreenā¦should I paint the holes silver? Let me know your thoughtsā¦ 1) leave it alone 2) paint the center and cowling holes; leave the screen hole clear 3) paint all three Comments, questions welcome! Thanks for stopping by! Tim

Great job on this kit Tim. I really love the color on this bad Boy. Nothing screams RACE CAR like a solid YELLOW, RED or Orange.

Tim,
Really nice work - inspired me to get my kit out (the same repop you got) and start work on it...I'll be looking at your pics whenever I get to one of the many frustration moments that await me
