Chaps
Hope all well with all of you.
Think the phrase is 'Winter is coming'. With that comes the stocking up of scalpels, styrene, paint and glue ready for the long nights under the LEDs making stuff.
I was looking at adding to a selection of 1979 Indy 500 models I have and think I may have a go at a Lightning from that year (and maybe the Guthrie Lola). Do not know much about them and could eyeball it all but wondered if anyone had simple plan and side elevation drawings of this car. This will be in 1/32nd scale when done.
I see the side radiators were mounted either flat or angled, presumably depending on the vintage of the car, I dunno which way that detail evolved, and a few other minor differences on the various entries.
Not something I will do in a hurry but certainly intend to get one done by the end of the year.
Cheers
Joe

I like cars from this era, but can’t recall details of the car. Looking forward to your creations. Winter, indeed! Temp dropped 30 degrees F overnight. Equinoctial times!

Not elevation dwgs but this may help tell one from another
1976 McCluskey
1977 Bobby Unser
1977 Ruby
1978 Carter (Cosworth engine)
1979 Janet Guthrei's Lola
All the Lightnings seemed to be slightly different from eachother.
Good luck!

Kevin did a great 1/25 '77 Lightning. Might be something to check out the WIPs and builds here.
