I took a little time this summer to start a portable model railroad that is being designed with a tropical/Louisiana Swamp theme to it. I will have it finished for the 2024 Pittsburgh Narrow Gauge Convention. Pretty much everything but the ship model is scratch built from wood. The base is extruded pink Styrofoam, the trees are actual branches found on our property with added scenic foliage attached. The layout is far from being finish as you can tell, but it’s a good start. It will be 8 foot long and 2 feet wide. The scale is O scale and I plan on having the trains run by battery instead of track voltage. Its call that dead rail and it’s a new trend in the hobby. I was also able to produce three more train kits this summer so I have been a little bit behind my usual pace for race cars. I started this past week on the Gurney Toyota Celica’s and that’s were my focus will be until that kit is completed. Thanks for having a look. Kevin, Silver City Models
