Figured I would post this as I was posting my recent builds. Not sure why I never posted this to the forum. It was actually my first F1 build, first open wheel build of any kind. It was my first Tamiya kit too. (When I was a kid I built whatever could be found at walmart). Because of those things I have to admit to having a soft spot for it. It certainly isn't my best work, as I was just getting back into the hobby at the time. Finding this kit for cheap is one of the things that led me into diving back into the hobby all the way. I made my fair share of mistakes but it still turned out looking good enough on the shelf. Fast forward to recently when I was updating my display cabinet with some new shelves and...I dropped it. Broke a front wheel, rear suspension, front wing all the way off, engine cover flew through the air and I believe a wing mirror simply disintegrated because I never found it. Still haven't. Well I was buttoning up the builds of my Beetle and Monkey motorcycle and decided I should pull the remains down to the bench and get it squared away. I didn't try to fix anything else or clean up and of my old work. I just put it back mostly how it was. So it's back on 4 wheels and safely in the display cabinet in all its glory...less one mirror. Snapped some quick pictures before I took it back to its home.
