Somewhere I ran across converting the 68 Olsonite Eagle into the Rislone Eagle. The Rislone Eagle kit seems to be pricey and more rare than the Olsonite and I've got 2 of the Olsonite kits already. What is involved in the conversion? Are there resin parts to do the conversion?

Norm Veber at Replicas and Miniatures Co. of Maryland sells a resin Offy (& other parts) conversion kit that has all you need. I'm away from home & don't have contact info handy, altho it's been posted in other threads before. You might find it thru the search function.

If you have a spare AMT eagle offy (with the straight intakes) you pretty much have what you need. The Rislone car on my website was made from the Olsonite kit using this method. Fortunately the Olsonite Eagle comes with the Offy engine cover. The rear wheels need to be brought in quite a bit. It was either 1/4" total or 1/4" per wheel, I don't remember. That took some work but was not exceptionally hard.

Apparently, he doesn't have a website. I am in no rush though, just trying to gather the parts together so went I get to it, I have it.

Thanks Russ!
I will send him an email. Now I just need one more kit. I still want to build the Olsonite Eagle with Weslake engine as well. Does anyone know the story of that car? Was it Denny Hulme that was the driver?

Hi ya Stu!
If you need another Olsonite Eagle...send me a PM...I have more than I can build. Denny Hue drove the number 42 car to 4th place in 1968. It's a great kit if you get Indycals decals, which are superior!
Best to you
Russ

Thanks Russ for your offer. I may take you up on that. I sent Norm an email yesterday. Do you know how good he is about checking email?
Is there anything car that can be EASILY built from the Olsonite Eagle kit other that the Dan's, Denny's and the Rislone car?

Jut call Norm. He is a great guy to deal with. Call after 9 AM Eastern time. Too late. I already sent him an email and got a reply: "Hi Stuart, Yes, the Rislone Special conversion kit is still available. It is part # RM-76 and costs $24.95. The kit has 18 resin parts and includes Fred Cady decals and a Fram Oil Filter decal. The parts are the Offy 4 banger turbo engine and some other body/chassis bits. The Olsonite kit you have is the donor kit, of course. Also, if you have tires with significant sink marks, we offer a set of resin copies, possibly taken from the only set of those tires to not have those incidious sink holes! They are # T-40 for $6.95. Our shipping/handling is $8.50 per order. Visa, Mastercard, checks and money orders are all accepted. If you would like a catalog, email me your snail mail address. Norm Veber Replicas & Miniatures Co. of Md."I just asked for him to send me a catalog. Who knows what other goodies I will find!

I got to watching this '67 USAC race from Riverside a little closer and Bobby Unser was driving the Rislone liveried Eagle. I paid particular attention to the rear of the car looking for the external turbo charger. It wasn't there. So, to model the Rislone Eagle as it ran at Riverside '67 might only require an alternative livery from the standard Olsonite Eagle.

Nope, the paint jobs were similar, but the 1966-67 Eagle was very different from the 1968 Eagle. The '68 had a lower, wider monocoque and outboard front suspension. The '66-'67 cars had inboard front suspension and were taller and narrower, but usually with strapped on fuel tanks.
