The details of the article are accurate. The sheet was available from most sites that had speedline decals at that time. I haven't seen them offered for some time now, except for a rare appearance on eBay. Perhaps Jordan has more info on availability.

Thanks Russ. I also found a reference to it here: modelingmadness.com/reviews/cars/brownreynard.htmBen Brown did a review of the Revell Reynards in Sept of 2007 and stated the following: "There is a little aftermarket support for them, with several different decal sheets from Speedline, Indycals, and possibly some others, as well as a photo-etched wing detail set from Detail Master. "

But, I've never seen, or heard of, Detail Master end plates for the Revell Reynards. If they exist Jordan will know about them. RussD

I've only got a few sets of the Speedline P-E sets and I cleaned out Strada Sports (who makes the Speedline line of parts, decals, and P-E) back at least three or more years ago. The availablity is virtually nil - I only see them on eBay in the rarest of occasions and I've only picked up one set on eBay as most auctions with this P-E set sell for big bucks.
If you want I can specify what all is in the Speedline Photo-etch set as I don't think the F1M review is 100% accurate but it should said that the review is still very good (none of us are perfect afterall ;D)
Detail Master sets for the Revell Reynard never happened as far as I can tell - I usually go through their site a time or two a year and have never seen anything. DM did like three or four nice sets of wing endplates for the late 80s IndyCars but nothing since for our segment of the hobby. I can write something up on them, too, if you guys want.

A quick review of what WAS available might be good. I don't know if its worth going to much effort since the availability is so limited anyway. I sent an email to Strada Sports asking about the photo-etch kits. I will see what kind of a reply they send me.

HI Jordan,
I would really like to figure out which DM set is for which car. I see end plates offered but I don't know how to decipher the part number for which car! LOL!! Mainly looking to find the '86-'88 March sets, so if you can list which part number is which set, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks for your help. Mongo

The one thing I notice about the Revell Reynard kits it that things like the wing end plates, rear wing supports, etc all look very thick contributing to a toy-like appearance. Some of it seems like it could be replaced with Evergreen plastic stock. I'm tempted to first get out the Dremel or do some major hand sanding to sharpen end-plates, wing-ends etc.
Has anyone tried this? Was it successful?

Hi all,
When I wrote that review I could have sworn the PE set was from Detail Master. I remember a photo of the set, with the end plates, the edges you glue to the backs of the front wing end plates, and a couple of other bits. When Stuart e-mailed me to ask about them, I went back and looked for the photo I had seen, but all I could find was a reference to the Speedline set, which I had never heard of. This leads to the distict possibility that my wife is right and that I have indeed lost my mind.
Sorry if I've caused any confusion.
Ben

NP Ben - if we only kept the perfect ppl, the forum would be empty - lol I'll see about getting the P/E stuff posted this weekend but I think the wifey intends to keep me busy though!! ;D The thickness of the endplates is likely a compromise of the plastic molding process. I would guess that molding it thinner would make it more likely to warp. I think Revell did a great job with these kits having virtually zero warp. Replacing the end plates has been done and it looks really sharp - here is a good online build that shows what he did. Regardless, it is a great build and recommend it to all board members that build cars from the 80s to today www.cifesystem.com/millertime.htmlJordan
